I was watching [adult swim] last night (oh, Futurama, when will your new eppies start?), when I saw an ad for Death Note. Looks like Cartoon Network will start airing the dub on Oct. 20th!!! Hooray for shinigami, chocolate gangsters, and pale-faced investigators

We can only hope that the dub is decent. The voice actors look decent enough.

And, yup, Futurama has 13 new episodes coming out on Comedy Central in 2008. There was a panel at Comic-Con about it (which I couldn't get in for) and the Bongo Comics (owned by Matt Groening) booth gave out a funny mini comic about the new eppies. There's also four straight-to-DVD movies coming out starting this fall.

I'll be honest and say that DN is an anime I NEED a dub for. A dub with subtitles. Because I just wasn't listening to everything, lol. Please don't be ear-bleedingly bad.

OMG no way! Death Note on Adult Swim! *fan girl scream* I knew that as soon as DN was made into an anime I said it should totally be on [AS]! Dang, I havent watched good anime on TV for a while. (Since Fullmetal Alchemist)
Wait, that means that DN will be sold on HotTopic now! What a perfect match! ^^; (But Hot Topic is super expensive ^^; )

Yes, I did a little fangirl squee, too! :D I checked Anime News Network and I guess it hasn't been officially announced yet, but Cartoon Network has confirmed it (and, obviously, already started running commercials about it)! So, yes, we'll get our fill of deliciously dark anime.

As far as merch goes, there's going to be a slew of it--Viz is releasing special editions of the anime with figures and there's the "How to Read" book (aka v. 13) and a fanbook, too. It's going to get a HUGE marketing push over the next few months, I'm sure. And I used to like Hot Topic, but now, I'd just as soon buy something online than walk into their stores (too many things I wish I could buy when I see it in person). Besides, I try to support Rising Sun in Mission Valley as much as possible otherwise...It being a small biz and all...

Yes, Support Rising Sun! I love that store so much! ^^ I think I would rather buy things from there since they're usually the origonal stuff from Japan and they are way cheeper than the things they'll be selling at HT. ^^;

Whenever I can, I head over to Rising Sun after work on Wednesdays, since that's when all the new manga comes in. It's just a 15-minute trolley ride from campus (I ride the trolley to school/work), so it works out perfectly! :D
