Any advice on cheep furniture/needed appliances for university apartments? Thinking air matress for bed as I want something out of the way during the day, and that'll give me more rom then a futon

For a bed I'd go for a convertible couch rather than for an air matress for several reasons:
- it makes for good seating if you have guests - air matresses tend to lose air more quickly when you use them for a long time. - heat insulation - air matresses tend to get really cold in the winter, especially if you don't have a carpet in the room - you're going to be sick and tired of inflating and deflating the damned matress every single night. - probably a matter of preference but I don't think air matresses are very comfortable, they just move very oddly when you tend to toss and turn a lot like I do.
