I'm not allowed to not hate on haters, now?

I have a problem.  It involves Orson Scott Card, and Jesus.

It's also pretty hard to describe succinctly.  Long notes under this cut. )

Is it okay to want to punish him for his later books being ungodly awful?

If you feel the need to do so. :)

Of course you are not allowed to not hate on haters just like everyone is expected to activly hate perverts like yourself. It takes very thoughtful people (again- such as youself) to not reflexivly want to destroy what they don't understand. They wont put the effort into decerning at what point something actually is harmful once they have percieved that it *might* be harmful.

"He wants to shape the laws to conform to his religion, and I respect that..."

There is the point where disagreement sets in. I cannot even pretend to respect that, not even a little bit. That's where I start to become bitter enemies with someone. Perhaps it's a personal failing on my part, but I have no intention of changing it. The closest I have to a religion is the firm belief that trying to force ones own religion on others is the ultimate sin.

Of course I am not unaware that this belief by definition leaves me trying to force that belief on others, so I will be the first to condemn myself for this stance. So evil!
