Arthur would have been a great death, I love Mr. Weasley and all but since he was like a second dad for Harry, I bet that his death would have been a little more explicit and meaningfull, and not only "and well, then he died and life goes on". :/

Yeah, I want fics! :D
And you should post as well an icon contest or something because I'm feeling so useless!!

You know, I would have rather seen Arthur die in a drawn-out angst-fest, than Remus die in a little puff of "Ooops. We killed him".

The tragedy of Arthur's death might have given the seventh book a different and deliciously-dark tone of mourning that could have carried throughout.

"Fred (Weasley, brother of Harry's friend Ron), Lupin (a former teacher at Hogwarts, the school for wizards and witches that Harry attended) and Tonks (Lupin's wife) really caused me a lot of pain," Rowling says.

"Lupin and Tonks were two who were killed who I had intended to keep alive. … It's like an exchange of hostages, isn't it? And I kept Mr. Weasley (Ron's father) alive. He was slated to die in the very, very original draft of the story."

Seeing her explicitly confirm what everyone knew sucks.

ugh. yes it does.

And if it caused her so much pain, she did a crappy job of showing it in the actual book. Sigh.

On the Dateline story I saw she said she let Mr. Weasley live and Sirius die - as much as I love Mr.Weasley, NOT SIRIUS goddammit!! *yes, I cried over that and almost cried in theatres too*

The thing that burned me the MOST I think was hearing her say "I went on the internet 3 weeks before OoTP was going to be published and saw that Sirius had a huge fan following" and she was like "oops" and I basically wanted to cuse her ass out; no shit Sherlock, maybe you SHOULD pay a bit MORE attention to your fans!! not bend to their every whim but at least ACKNOWLEDGE their own fav.s, you know?!!
