it was tuberculosis. la bohème is what rent is based off of -- it was by puccini (who also did madama butterfly) and had tuberculosis instead of AIDS.

Yes Rent was based off of La Boheme by Puccini but We were talking about RENT, where people have HIV. And in La Boheme, only one person has TB. Its like saying the people in the movie Cruel Intentions lived in france because its based off of Les Liasions Dangereuses. SO YOU ARE WRONG SIR
