Ah, humans. So quick to celebrate their holidays.

Dare I ask what your little celebration entails?

Valentine's day? Mostly it's a lot of chocolate and flowers exchanged between friends and lovers.

Sounds exceptionally pointless.

Not much on the romance, huh?

I see no point in it.

It entails purchasing and exchanging objects, cards, letters, poems (etc.) with those who you are romantically engaged with or interested in pursuing romantically, or with those who you are not interested in, but feel sorry for.

It is the one day of the year when cards and gifts can be delivered anonymously without the recipient suspecting that they are being stalked.

Sounds ridiculous.

It's romantic.

[Pause]

And it makes people feel good about themselves! Or bad about themselves, but life will always have it's losers.

A foolish, frivolous indulgence. Why bother?

I think it's best not to ask. This place likes to make non-humans participate anyway. So you'll find out soon enough, if we're lucky.

Oh, how exhilarating.

I am hoping the Admiral has learnt a lesson or two and will leave us alone.

Let the humans have their holy days, by all means.

If he gives the humans their holy days, I can only hope he's prepared to give me my own.

I always considered it an opportunity to celebrate those that I care for, even if it's not a holiday of my people. A good many of my friends celebrate it.

A noble goal, perhaps. But not a sentiment that I share in any longer.

The caring itself? Or the friends?

Caring. I had more important matters to attend to.

[Even if she would like to see her sisters again someday.]
