It really is a small world. The other day in class I was sitting near a classmate that's from Venezuela. After class a girl came up to him to ask which part he was from, and in doing so found out that he had been one of the locals her family knew while they were stationed down there. (The girl's a lot younger than he is, apparently.) It was fun just to listen to them catch up.
I think it would be hard to move away from everything I ever knew, but it happened in reverse to me (everyone else moved away), so I guess it's not so bad. It makes reunions that much better!
