Zexion looked around the castle, which he had been sent to along with five other members of the organization. Zexion glanced at the castle’s stain glass windows in contempt; it looked like they were in a fairy tale castle, of sorts. Perhaps it was for Naminé’s benefit more than anything.
Marluxia seemed determined to make Naminé happy; he probably thought that if she was happy she would draw more pictures. Zexion personally thought that Marluxia was wasting his time away with Naminé but it seemed that Larxene had mentioned just that on a few occasions. He had accused her of being jealous, in which she adamantly denied. Zexion had no wish to be referred to as jealous, that was actually the last thing he wanted.
For he knew it would only be a matter of time before the Superior found out and that was the last thing he needed. Xemnas had the tendency to have this need to prove himself, particularly when he thought something of his was threatening to be taken away from him.
In fact, Zexion had been amazed that he had been allow, never mind assigned, to this mission. Xemnas usually liked Zexion by his side or at the very least near him.
Lexaeus had teased him when he first learned that the younger nobody, would be going to Castle Oblivion with the rest of them.
In fact, something about Zexion being sent with them just didn’t sit right with Lexaeus. Why was Xemnas letting Zexion go with them to a place where he wouldn’t be able to see the younger nobody’s every movement? Every time Lexaeus attempted to ask Zexion, the younger nobody just shrugged him off, saying the Superior never really specify why.
Lexaeus wasn’t buying it. Sure it was possible, that Zexion truly did not know the reason and if that really was the situation; why wasn’t Zexion tossing around theories like he usually would. Zexion was acting oddly and Lexaeus couldn’t figure out why and it was starting to irritate him.
He was a scientist and didn’t like surprises. Zexion was someone he thought he knew well but it was turning out to be that he didn’t really know him at all or perhaps Zexion was showing his true self and everything before had been simply a façade.
Neither idea seemed to appeal to Lexaeus very much but Zexion was the cloaked schemer and wasn’t this what he did the best?
Still one would think that he would be happy being away from the Superior’s constant gaze. Being somewhere where his actions were being watched and being controlled somewhat. Lexaeus was no fool, he had a strong feeling that Zexion was only doing what Xemnas asked to save himself from the aftermath because sometimes the fight just wasn’t worth it at all.
Zexion must had saw this as an ample opportunity to escape from it all, however the younger nobody just saw it as a break or a vacation rather. He planned to return back with the others and back to the Superior’s side.
It boggled Lexaeus’ mind that Zexion would give up his freedom willingly without a struggle at all. Even though when asked why, all Zexion would reply with was ‘it was his place’.
Perhaps it was since he had been there for so long that he never known anything else and perhaps Lexaeus was wasting his breath and time trying to convinced him otherwise. Zexion did have a slight tendency to be quite stubborn when he wanted to be and Lexaeus knew there was no way he would be able to change Zexion mind. However, that didn’t stop Lexaeus from trying anyways because he happened to like a good challenge every now and then.
