Kagome, afterwards, would be precisely like this. *applauds*

This is beautifully tragic, and I can just imagine her this way at the end of it all.

You've managed to capture just that sense of remembrance and longing perfectly, of knowing something is true, but never being able to return to it.

of knowing something is true, but never being able to return to it.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was going for. :)

Very well done, indeed. You've managed to capture the tone I was reaching for in the original. I really felt, on reading this, that you understood what I was trying to do despite my inexperience as a writer.

Thank you.

Oh! I didn't realize when I read it how old the piece was. 2004? Wow.

I'm really glad you liked this. I wasn't sure if I was taking it too far.

I was so torn between remixing this and Scar Tissue. But in the end, as in love with Scar Tissue, I couldn't think of an angle. It was just too perfect as it was.

You own post-series Kagome. :)

No, I really do think you did a great job.

I'm so glad you liked my original, and that you liked Scar Tissue as well. A lot of the time, I don't feel like the Inuyasha fic I write connects with, well, anybody. I'm glad to know that's not true. :)

I just read both... ladyathenis June 1 2007, 20:00:30 UTC
... and have to say that they compliment each other quite nicely!

Separated pieces, yet connceted by a common thread. The thread of memory.

Good job!

I'm curious, how did you know the same person had written both pieces?

yet connceted by a common thread. The thread of memory. ♥!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. :)

How did I know that the same person had written both pieces?

::umm::

I think I was referring to this one and the one before it that I left my review about.

Your LJ user icon, I remember seeing from the first one I read, and when I saw this rewrite from you, well... I just had to check it out also.

The original piece has Kagome talking in the present of her "other life" then, whereas this piece by you has her talking about her other life in the past tense. The emotion of "memory" is the connecting thread.

She found it hard to believe her life back then when it was happening, should she tell anyone outside of her family, and now that she knows it DID happen, finds herself in the possible position of being thought of a "crazy old woman" for telling the youth her tales.

At least, that is how I interpreted it.
