Oh, wow. What a fascinating take on Fraser's motivation. I love it a lot, especially this:

Every important conversation in his life had been conducted in the pause between thought and action. That's quite prfound, and I liked Fraser's reaction to Ray's 'wolf-grin'.

Oh! Delicious! *swallows story whole* I LOVE these kinds of little snippets. You can't stretch a moment like that into a 6000 word story - you lose too much impact. So this is perfect and awkward and "BAM! Deal with it! " And perfect - I said that, right?
