Oh, I like this reverse jouney for Dief! While Benton is searching for him, Dief is also searching for a way back. He travels in the night, while Benton is in the day, and encounters Amaguq instead of Amarok. And the choice offered, but to him, it's a trick, because he's not ready to go.

I like this, and the way you incorporated a couple of lines from the original as anchors.

Thank you!

I'm so glad you liked this. The original was so awesome that I only hoped to capture a fraction of the beauty in your story. Yay!

I also very much like the way you did this mirror return journey; and especially Dief not being taken in, because of his true bond to Fraser.

I'm glad you liked this, Gloriana. I like writing about Dief, and about his trials...*g*

Oh, what a marvelous remix! When I got to this...

Not Amarok, he barks. Amaguq. Trickster.

...I said Awesome! out loud; it just burst out of me.

Much love.

I know you can't answer this until authors are revealed, but I'll get the question in now: May I have your permission to podfic this?

I don't have a problem with you podficcing this, but it'd be nice to see both this and the original story podficced, if kernezelda doesn't mind and you have the time/inclination to do both of them. I like the thought of the two stories as a set.

I've already commented to the original fic asking her permission. I'd like to do both stories in a single recording, first hers and then yours. With luck, I'll soon have her okay. :-)

I love the way this echoes the orignial. What a marvelous setting, Time passes but the stars remains motionless in the eternal night.

Amaguq, not Amarok, trying to trick him! following the heart-song of his packmate was so beautiful.

Thanks, Keerawa. This one actually gave me very little trouble. Once I decided that Dief was going to take his own journey, the words just flowed. I think I like writing about the Borderlands of due South...*g*
