Gosh, I totally missed seeing this earlier today - I apologize! This is just beautiful, one of those situations where if I quoted my favorite lines I'd be quoting the whole thing back at you, but I think I'll stick with the image of Bill standing on the border and thinking that's enough. I love that he's willing to try so hard for her sake.

I loved the whole idea of it; language fascinates me (though I suffer from monolingualism). I hadn't given Bill and Victoire any thought at all, until your story made them snuggle into my heart.

The first sentence that came to me was Languages are not words, they are worlds - after that, I knew I had a story.
