Leoben doesn't stay with the others. Instead he watches as a despondent Kara Thrace stares into the flames.
"Really not in the mood, Leoben."
He moves closer. Despite the events of the day he can't help but think she's more herself than ever.
"It's beautiful here."
"It's dead."
"Death brings life, Kara." He touches her cheek reassuringly, as she moves to face him.
"All happened before, right? I know..." she mutters, as she walks away.
Leoben is unmoved, his faith unshaken that an angel will lead them home. This was a necessary stop. There is no beginning if there is no end.
