Thank you! I've never written HP before, and am not a Draco fan, but I love the thought of Albus and Scorpius becoming friends in defiance of parental expectations.
What a lovely and adroit snapshot of future!Hogwarts. I want to read the whole book of Scorpius's stories and the tale of his friendship with James!
I have to go back and read the original to fully grasp what you did with the remix, but this is beautiful on its own, especially the tempered, gentle wisdom of grown-up Draco.
Thank you. :) You leave the best comments. *blush*
It's actually Scorpius and Albus who are friends, but after re-reading the final scene in DH, I wanted to show that Albus' big brother was accepting and supportive of his friendship with Scorpius, regardless of surname or House.
I like the bittersweet tone of this and the defiance of the boys. Although I thought of it as Albus, it works well with James too, and I like the different direction that change propels it in.
I'm so glad you like it! While I'm not a Draco fan, I very much like the idea that he'd be as protective of his own child as his parents were of him, and that he, like the other student-survivors, could grow up and live on, and not burden his children with the past.

We don't know how either boy is Sorted, but I prefer to think of them both as Slytherin, part of a new generation that will redeem the House that JKR (imo) damned with their desertion in DH.

Amen. That's largely what dragged me into this fandom. So much fail. It's fandom's role to redeem canon in this case, I believe.
