Petunia’s dreams take her to Narnia or Middle Earth, magic-laden lands where she wishes she belongs.
But it is Lily, her pink-ribbonned sister (who wants to be a princess, for God’s sake!), who starts showing magical powers. Petunia tries to rouse hers, but leaping off the swing to levitate lands her in hospital.
When the Magical World welcomes Lily, all that Petunia gets is a tour through Diagon Alley, and a lousy polite letter from Dumbledore.
Her love turns sour. Magic may exist, but she wants nothing of it.
Her once beloved books are now collecting dust on their shelf.
