George's confrontation with Dawn was a thing of beauty. Much like Delores, she really is good at her job. Dawn getting a job and pitching in on the housework may just help her feel a bit more connected. It worked for George. I wonder, though, if the job front is trying to tell both Dawn and George something. Maybe she's right and George is wrong about helping out The Council.

This made me laugh out loud: Although the FBI cleared her of all charges, somewhere there’s an agent hunkered down in front of a computer looking for coded secret messages to the Tuvalu government in Delores’s live stream from her apartment as she puts on her Getting Things Done with Delores show.

Poor bastard. On the upside, he’s probably getting some really good tips about decorative shelf liners. Poor bastard, indeed.

Certainly this section subtly feeds into George's doubts about letting Dawn work for the Council going forward.

As for the confrontation, the last thing I wanted was to turn Dawn into a doormat, punching bag, or a strawman. If Dawn just let the whole thing drop without kicking up a fuss or marshaling good arguments then that's all she'd be.

I had a ton of fun writing about Dawn's disastrous luck with jobs. I randomly picked Tuvalu out of a list of "the world's smallest countries" because I thought it'd be funny. Plus, can you imagine Delores being watched by the FBI? That alone made me kind of giggle.

I had a ton of fun writing it. I couldn't resist making it slightly over-the-top because the comedic potential was too good to pass up.

The funny thing is that Tuvalu is a real country. I picked it out of a list of "the world's smallest nations" because I wanted the most unlikely source of trouble as I could find.
