Oh, this is so sweet. I love how it's such a different story than the fic it's based in, while still preserving the warm tone - the fluffiness if you don't mind that term.

(And please forgive a bit of Canada-picking, but: if you wanted some Toronto authenticity, you could have Rodney's dad throw him into the Hart House pool - that would be the pool at the U of Toronto most likely to be used for informal instructional purposes by a faculty member.)
