Wow, that's intense. (waaaah!) I love your explanation of the original story, and LEELA, wooooes! *sigh* Really, really good story, and there was Romana, and I love Martha in this, and him saying bye to Rose... *sniffles muchly*
Thank you! I'd never written Leela or Romana before, and Martha only rarely, so it was something of an adventure for me to try a hand at their voices. I'm so glad it worked for you.
“Don’t you see? The paradox doesn’t matter, Rose, because there are no timelines to cross. There is no time.”
This is brilliant. I don't even know where to start; everything's so well realized-the Doctor's peripheral awareness of Martha, the way his mind works, the sound that eats sound, the chill in the innocuous start, the first time Jamie appears and he's so real in you writing that it's a bit like getting punched, Susan and the way he subtly changes around her to really be her Grandfather, the scene between Eight and Leela and the way it ran the gamut from horrific to sad to laugh-out-loud funny in places, the scene with Rose, Romana and her eternal equipoise, the Doctor and Martha sitting and waiting for the ghosts to pile up on top of them. Every era feels real, immediate, and like itself-God, I wish I could do that.
Oh my god, this is beautiful and brilliant. I love it so. (And god, I wish they would hurry up for it to be reveal day already. I want to do a rec for this on my rec page so insanely badly. And on calufrax too)
Wow! It's just so haunting and wonderful. I particularly adore the scene with Eight and Leela and the discussion of the purpose of music. Just a brilliant piece.

Straight into my memories, this.
