This is so, so awesome. I've never read the original story, but I loved the mystery in this, and Lilly(s) and Veronica(s). Incredible writing.

I'm with butterflykiki. It took me a second read-through to fully absorb this. For example, I didn't get this at first:

"We're not forgotten."

"But who?"

"We have each other, now," the other Lilly pointed out. "I have you, and you have me."

Then the creepiness sinks in, and... oh, yeesh! *shudder* This is so completely different than my original. Deliciously, subtly chilling, whereas my fic is so in-your-face violent. Yet they still fit so well together. I never expected anybody to remix BK,R -- and this is AMAZING! Thank you!

When I read through your index, it was clear to me that you probably didn't expect anyone to remix that story--but also that it was the story I had to remix. And there was no way I could turn down the chance to write Lilly/Lilly. (Although I did struggle for a while as I tried to decide excatly what Lilly's arc would be.) Lilly is so much fun to write--although out of the four stories I've written with her in it (well, she hasn't appeared yet in "Not Quite Queen of the Damned," but she will), this is the only one in which she's alive for even a small portion of the fic. (And I have at least one more ghost!Lilly fic planned to write--a five things fic which is a crossover with Firefly.) I'm not sure what that says about me, or her.
