I love the description of them all at the carnival. The idea of River squooshing Simon close to Kaylee is darling. And Book helping Wash in the knocking down of bottles? Priceless.

And this line: If she would always be his phantom limb, even when she was, in a sense, right in front of him.

was one of those wow lines that I'd wished I'd written.

Thank you so much! I adore that you enjoyed those two little moments (River can be good at preventing her brother from being a boob in true bratty sister-fashion, and I had no idea what to do with Book at the carnival, until I thought about his special stealth skills...).

Oh, wow, thank you so much! The River and Simon relationship is one of my favourite things on the show, and I was super excited to realize how I could play with that in the context of Simon and the conjoined twins.
