This is just fantastic. I liked the balance of humor and seriousness, and the way you widened the plot of the original to make it a story about the whole crew. I especially loved the way you captured Book. You made this story so detailed and really got to the heart and flavor of the show.

(Also, as a Firefly fan, may I just say how much I squeed to see that it was a longer multi-part fic and well-written? Kudos.)

Oh, I'm so glad you aren't irked by the expansion! It was my first remix, and by the time I realized it had gotten away from me, the cattle were already out of the gate, you know?

But when I saw how easily you had brought Wash back, it was just perfect, and that was the story that hit me as "Wow! Do I every wish that I had thought of that!" And with permission to play with your toys, I just started having too much fun.

Thank you so very much for your Firefly fiction and for letting me play with your 'verse. I'm very glad if you approve.

Wow. Really neat expansion of the story. The original emotional elements are all there, but expanded, and there's a whole exterior world, full of intrigue. I found the double agent idea with Book fascinating. You've got a gift for the voices.

Thanks! This was my first remix, and when I read inalasahl's summary about this being her "live Wash 'verse", I did a "DOH! Why didn't I think of that?" Clearly that was the story I wanted to play with.

If I did wrong to expand it so much, I get to blame it on being a noobie, but I just couldn't leave Book dead! :)

Aw - I'm so very happy to see a Book fixit fic! In fact, this is an awesomely comprehensive fixit; not just Wash, but also Book (with bonus resolution of his dubious past, so that he can settle back properly into the crew), and even Inara, with her extra-canonical death sentence commuted too.

I think that River tormenting Jayne was possibly my favourite part, but your Book is lovely.

Hey, thanks. This is by far the most self-indulgent thing I've ever written. But Inalasahl's "live Wash 'verse" was just too tempting. And in the spirit of "What would i do if I were writing this story," I figgered, "Heck, if I were writing this story, I'd save 'em all!"

And yes, to paraphrase Wash, I don't think there is any time that Jayne being bested by a 90-pound girl will ever get old.

I'm so glad that it worked for you.

Oh, holy wow. This is one of my favorite things to come out of this year's Remix. There's so much here that's gorgeous -- insight into Book's past (and, for that matter, Book's resurrection -- squee!), the way you handled the Mal/Wash/Zoe (or Mal/Zoe/Wash *g*) triad, River being river ("boob" is a palindrome -- and I laughed out loud when she dropped that pear down her shirt)... Seriously, this is just fantastic. Funny and snarky and gritty and believable and just the right balance of answers and unanswerables. YAY!

Aw, thanks! It was a lot of fun to write, both getting to play in someone else's sandbox and getting to remedy some of BDM, but was also terribly self-indulgent. I'm very glad if it worked for someone else as well.
