laurificus has done something completely crazy and gone to sleep at night time. Since I never do anything on time, ever, you've got ONE HOUR to get your stories posted.
This has happened to me before, and my daughter sroni described something similar from awhile back, but I don’t know what MAKES it happen: I post to the remix early, an initial draft while I keep working on making things even cooler. Then when I’m done I go back in and post the newer version, I think on top of what I’d already done. Then I go back later and look, and the first one is in the Drafts folder on AO3 … I don’t even know how to save something as a draft, it’s only happened when I was posting to RemixRedux.
Any ideas on what causes this, and how to avoid it?
I'd like to be dazzling and say yes, but alas, that is not to be. I have a vague, possibly not at all accurate memory of this happening to someone before, and it being something to do with hitting preview rather than submit. But I'm not sure that's what you're describing. Let me know if you still can't resolve it - it might be worth dropping a note to AO3 support detailing your exact issue as well.
It’s not an issue right now - I already spotted the ‘draft’ and deleted it, since I had the regular story already in - but it had me technically showing as coming in after the deadline. Something like that is embarrassing, as I take such obligations seriously. (Which is nothing compared to sroni’s embarrassment, some years ago: she didn’t know she’d “defaulted” until she saw her assigned author on the needs-a-pinch-hit list.)

Sorry I can't offer a better solution.
