This is a breathtaking extension of the original story. It's really fascinating the way that you explained and illustrated the way that Sai and Hikaru met. And how Sai can bel clueless but still mortal and in this world.

Thank you very much! The way that Sai was clueless yet mortal was the part of the original story that really hooked me (well, that and the image of Hikaru crashing through the screens in his house) and made me decide to remix this story in particular. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This is a terrific AU, full of Hikaru's energy and Sai's wonder, but keeps them still tied just as tightly by Go. It was a nice switch seening Hikaru teaching Sai things this time around.

Lovely remix!

Thank you very much! It was really great fun exploring the dynamic between Sai and Hikaru from a different perspective, with Hikaru taking Sai under his wing even as the events unfolded much as they did in canon. I'm so glad that it worked for you.

I remember the original story this is remixed from, with warmth and appreciation, and this addition to it deepens and enhances the original. Very nice work, and wouldn't it be great if this really WAS canon!

Thank you very much for the lovely comment. "The Tangled Wood" is one of my favorite stories that Katharos wrote, and I'm so glad to hear that you liked the directions in which I expanded the original story. And my apologies for the extremely late reply; I missed your comment when it was first posted.
