There's gonna be some echo action there but he figures it's worth it.

Shephard's just laughing like a n- like m- he's laughing a lot and calling the robot cheerful obscenities. When D0G puts him down he says, "Good to see you too, boy. Everyone down there doin' okay?"

There's a crowd of people clustered at the foot of the steps, watching the two men descend.

Shephard, however, is staring at everything laid out before him and thinking: beds, hot water, and razors. For that, he can put up with a LOT of crowd attention. "C'mon," he mutters to Gordon. "Let's do this thing, okay?" And with that, he raises one hand and waves.

This isn't likely to reduce Gordon's anxiety. However, the olive-skinned, almond-eyed pregnant woman standing just at the foot of the steps is a pretty powerful incentive to keep going.

Who knew Gordon had figured out how to teleport all on his own? Because it's going to be really hard to find anyone in that crowd after today who can swear they saw him cover the intervening distance between him and Alyx.
