(thank you... that's a lot easier than "do what your heart desires." although i totally agree with that, but they both have completely different outcomes and i like the idea and outcome of both)
I think you should do what your heart tells you. Although you can always transfer wherever you want to go, you should start somewhere that you feel is a good place for YOU. You need a healthy learning environment and need to disregard what others tell you. make decisions for yourself and not based on any other people (whether you may be left alone or not). what feels right is what matter worse, not a petty fight with your friend or any discouragement from your family. Where do YOU see yourself. When you look into next year are in at mills or SC? which truly feels right. Both schools offer you different skills and opportunities, although neither is any greater or lesser than the other. This is going to be the biggest decision of your life so far, so go where your heart tells you; disregard everyone else.
with regards to classes, most of the general education classes will be really big, but there are a lot of small personalized classes you can take, like core classes. also, its really easy to forge relationships with your professors by talking to them in their office or after class etc
