Um... they can be a strong R, but nothing NC-17. I'd say what snoopy0917 wrote should be used as the top of the sexy scale.

Laura was blushing. That didn’t happen very often in front of Bill. They had been friends for a long time before they became lovers and she rarely showed embarrassment around him.

She always kept their intimacies separate, refusing to acknowledge that the sex between them was any more than comfort, mutual respect and necessity. Now, however, with one small word, she had made a mockery of that belief and altered the dynamics of their relationship.

“Yes, I will have a drink, thanks, honey,” he teasingly repeated the endearment back to her.

He was so smug. She couldn’t help but giggle.
