Fireflies!

For those of you who don't know, we do not have fireflies in Florida (where I grew up.) One of my favorite things to do when I visited family in Iowa was to capture fireflies in a jar. So I was walking home tonight from class as it was getting dark (8:30pm), listening to music and not really thinking about anything, when I see this small flash of

OMG! I was thinking about this as the sun was disappearing completely, sitting here in the den watching tv. Sometimes the fireflies get pretty close to the window and the sudden green flashes are quite eyecatching. They make me smile too!

Fireflies were always one of my most favorite parts of summer growing up. They still make me smile. Glad that DC has some pleasant surprises for you.
