It means they're worried Queen's Park will be filled with people who can't get elected to Ottawa, and those who are just using their provincial to gain exposure for a federal run.
(Not to get all boring, but the Ontario Liberals weren't implicated in the sponsorship scandal).
I think it's kinda small potatoes, but I know this sort of thing is a big deal for a lot of people. I'm sure they've done the political calculus. The hope of keeping hold on the best and the brightest (or base graft, depending on your perspective) won out against righteous anger on open line shows. They know there's an election next year.
In China, how high up in the Party do you have to be to get first crack at the Falun Gong kidneys? :D
Ah, I miss the days when John Tory was my dream candidate for Toronto's mayor's office, before he got involved in messy party politics. It'll still be awesome to watch him kick McGuinty's butt, though.
Yeah, I guess it wasn't entirely clear in my comment, but I'm hoping that Tory will crush McGuinty in the next election because voters will appreciate his compassionate conservatism in favor of a man who won power last time with a pack of blatant lies (well, and Eves ran a terrible campaign and deserved to lose, although it would have been nice to finally see someone take on the teachers' unions).
Penny already knows from previous conversations what a John Tory fanboy I am. It really is a pity that Toronto got the mayor it deserved, rather than the one it needed.
Oh, and the NDP have no chance of winning, so who cares what they think?
