What a wonderful story! And I loved that John made sure that Dean wouldn't hurt Sam either way. Also, it is a great bedrock on which to put John's last order. And of course, Dean immediately found the wiggle room needed.

Thank you so much! As much as John treats his sons like soldiers, he will take any precaution to protect them. I'm glad the Tell legend translates well to Dean's situation. John asking Dean to kill Sam goes against everything he's taught Dean and I just wanted to give it some sort of background. And William Tell just seemed to fit. Thanks again for the comment!

Nice twist... all through the beginning I was thinking, "What?! No, John wouldn't ever..." and then "But...but...he's too fixated on the boys *following* his orders, why would he send a mixed message like that...?" to finally: "Oooh."

I like the interaction between Sam'n'Dean, too. Thanks!

Ooh - ouch, oh Dean, oh John. Loved wee!Sammy, loved crossbow!Dean, loved buttmunch (why didn't I know that word when my kid brother was annoying me???) but oh, oh, oh - that ending killed me.

If I don't get much work done tomorrow, I'm blaming you to my boss.

Omg, buttmunch is like the insult of my childhood. My brother and I used buttmunch as well as several other names that all began with butt and ended with sniffer and licker and all sorts of gross things, lol. And I never get enough of "oh, Deans" and "oh, Johns." I love inflicting emotional damage on these boys. And I just imagine wee!Sammy as too cute for words.

And the ending, I'm so glad it got to you. I just wanted to reconcile John's last order with everything he's ever told Dean his entire life about watching out for Sam.

Disclaimer: I cannot be blamed for people slacking at work. But I do enjoy causing it. And frequently engage in it myself . . .
