I just came from Walmart!!! And I've had the "oh you're a criminal, let me cavity search you for $5.50 an hour" experience - and that was with my badge! (And no, I hadn't stolen anything:)

Great story!

LOL, omg I hadn't thought of the Trojan as a "warrior" before. Too funny. Oh, the shoplifting thing is a good idea. I didn't think of that. I remember actually doing that when I was little. I think I unwittingly stole a Baby Looney Tunes book from the drug store or something. Why I remember that, I have no idea. Thanks for commenting!

I actually may have to steal it. I can just imagine all sorts of things that wee!Dean would either unwittingly or purposedly steal . . .

Thanks for the idea

This was adorable. I love wee!chester fics that have them trying to do something so normal and having it go completely wrong. It makes me smile. I'm adding this to my memories.

Thank you! Of course, the Winchesters just can't go to Wal-Mart and have everything work out. Something has to go wrong. So happy you liked this!

Oh, wow, this is adorable! So cute, and yet with a surprising amount of angst. I think you really got John in character and OMG Wee!chesters \o/

It's amazing how Winchester angst can find its way into even the silliest stories. I'm happy John seems in character. He's tricky to write and I'm glad you enjoyed this version. And when are Wee!chesters not cute? Thanks for the feedback!

Wee!Chester fic is love. And this fic brought back all my complex love/hate feelings for Wal-mart.... Especially when John regretted not packing his gun!

So much so that, unaware of all the *other* flashback-type comm's out there, I t00bily started my own: wee_chesters. If you're ever interested in another place to plug or discuss wee!chester meta, please stop on by!

In my haste to add more, I made that comment make no sense. Wee!Chester fic is love, so much so.... (Not about my Wal-mart feelings).

Oh, and I want to add that this: Everything in John told him to tell him it was okay, but then he thought of Mary and fire and he couldn’t do it.

“Don’t be sorry, Dean,” John told him sternly, eyes on the road, “Be prepared. Be smart.”

...is perfect. Made of awesome. Oh, John.

LOL, I can totally relate to the complex feelings about Wal-Mart. I much prefer Target, but sometimes I just have to go to Wal-Mart. Sigh, the things we do for low "roll back" prices.

Oooohh, a wee_chester community. I like it. I'll probably be venturing over there.

And don't worry about not making sense. I understood what you meant!

“Don’t be sorry, Dean,” John told him sternly, eyes on the road, “Be prepared. Be smart.”

...is perfect. Made of awesome. Oh, John.

Thank you for this! I really like that line too and I'm so happy it seemed in character. And for all John's roughness and frequent insensitivity, he has his reasons, whether or not we agree with them. And I'd like to think that it hurts him to say these sorts of things to his sons.

Thanks again!
