The Master -the pretty one- is poking around the TARDIS garden. Or more importantly, around the TARDIS. He's examining them intently, occasionally knocking against one or the other parts. Once he tries the telephone. A few times he steps back and makes like a director, holding his hands to create a window.

He's probably up to something.

Owen noticed Harry Saxon checking out the TARDIS' and since it was something he was also curious about, he sauntered on over, hands in his pockets.

"Don't you have one of those?" He enquired with a faintly amused expression. "Or do you have something different. Like the Sith version or something?"

"Sith version?" He laughed. "That would be like having a Sith version of an automobile."

He tapped the TARDIS. "But no. Mine was lost." A bitter look crosses his face as he says that.

"How did you manage to lose a big blue box then?"

It was odd for Owen to look at the bloke standing next to him and process the fact that the man (or a version of him) had been elected to the position of the Prime Minister of England. And he was one of those Gallifreyans too. How had that fucking happened on Torchwood's watch?

It had all happened after Owen'd left, though. So he'd only heard it third hand. Apparently it had all been some crazy bid for galactic domination. But if Saxon was so bloody dangerous, why was everyone just letting him (and his various incarnations) roam around free?

Another bark of laughter. "Mine actually worked." He rapped on the police box. "See, they have what's known as a chameleon circuit which let's them change to be inconspicuous in whatever environment they're in. You're in a forest, it would look like a tree. Etc. Etc.

"This piece of junk here's circuit broke ages ago. The Doctor finds it... quaint. It actually means that he's a failure and can't fix it."

The Master was brilliant, that's how. How else could it have happened. And you would have voted for him too Owen dear, if you had been there.

Susan Foreman didn't know that the Master was here. If someone had told her, she probably would have felt considerably less at home. As far as she was concerned, the Master was dead. She'd stolen his TARDIS, and fled, blissfully unaware of his survival, and the body he would later steal on Traken.

She watched the man for a while, wondering exactly what he was doing, before eventually deciding to simply ask.

"Excuse me," she said politely, "What are you doing?"

Poor Susan. She should have realized that the Master has more lives than... a Time Lord. Still, she will probably find out soon enough.

"Checking for differences between the various TARDIS." He flashed her a brilliant smile. Hello Susan. He remembers you.

Checking for differences? That wasn't really the answer she'd been expecting but, since she'd never seen anyone behave like this before, she hadn't really been expecting anything.

"Why?" she asked, still more curious than afraid. She thought she was safe here, after all. "Does my Grandfather know what you're doing?"

"Because some of you or all of you may have come from different universes all together, and that might be important to know."

He ignores the second question, of course.
