He'd forgotten to bring an umbrella, of course, and so by the time he made it to Versailles he had the distinctly undistinguished look of an old-fashioned Englishman caught out in the rain and then left to dry in the sun: a bit wrinkly but no less pleasant for the wear.
Verailles was huge, and it took him nearly an hour to find them - he had a slightly unpleasant encounter with a suspicious security guard that involved some questioning and the necessity of flashing his old U.N.I.T. ID - but when he did, he managed a bright smile. He walked to the window Tegan was standing at, and attempted to lift his hat off his head in greeting, before he realized he wasn't wearing one. Instead he let his hand fall, a bemused look on his face. "Hallo. Dreadfully late to the party, sorry."
