Open RP - Ace in the Rain

Ace was out sitting on one of Sarah Jane's fence posts when it started. First, the sky was sunny and beautiful, and seemingly out of nowhere, the clouds came. The sky darkened, and the rain started to fall

The Doctor had spent the last couple hours in Sarah Jane's library and was about to step out for a breath of fresh air (with his handy brolly to keep the rain off) when he heard shuffling outside the door, followed by a faint "help!" and a dull thump.

He jerked the front door open to find a badly burned young woman collapsed there and immediatelly pulled her inside.

It was odd though, she was not burned underneath her clothes, only her exposed skin. He quickly glanced out the window as he carried her over to the couch to get a closer look at the damage. Acid? The trees and grass were unaffected. Was there something radioactive, then? Her clothes should not have been an effective barrier if that were so. How odd.

He got the girl onto the sofa and blinked a few times before he recognized her as she began to struggle against his grip on her shoulders as she regained consciousness.

"Ace?!"

"I'm sure that Sarah Jane has to have an umbrella or rainwear in a coat closet, or something similar..." Romana walked purposefully into the living room, clearly headed in the direction of the foyer...at least until she saw the Doctor bending over Ace at the sofa.

"Oh no!" she exclaimed. "Was she caught outside? How badly is she burned?" Romana glanced behind her, in the direction she'd just come from. "Melissa, C'rizz? I think we may need the burn gel out here!"

Melissa went back for it, delicately picking it up with her hands. At least her palms seemed to be okay from where she had them curled into fists.

She hurried back into the living room as fast as her knee would let her, holding it out to Romana.

"Here...Is she hurt badly? How long was she out?"

C'rizz looked down at the girl on the sofa, his face taking on a determined set. "Where's the closet? I need to get out there to find people as soon as I can."

Romana looked over towards The Doctor for answers regarding Ace's condition, since she had no more knowledge than Melissa did. She pulled a linen handkerchief out of her pocket and set it onto the end-table adjacent to the sofa so that it could be used once Ace stopped struggling.

At C'rizz's question, though, Romana looked hastily around the room, until her eye spotted a door next to the front entranceway of the house. "That looks like the closet over there?" She pointed in its general direction.

An idea seemed to strike Romana, as she looked out the window after C'rizz. "There are so many TARDISes that look alike, burned people may just come to the house here. Should I go out and get medical supplies from my TARDIS and bring them in here? It looks like there's still a rain poncho in the closet, and my boots should protect my feet."

"Is there an umbrella left? You'll get burned just trying to get to your TARDIS," Melissa pointed out, leaning against one of the armchairs.

"There's this plastic thing," Romana remarked, pulling the poncho out. "And this..." She retrieved a somewhat banged-up umbrella that seemed a little askew on one side, but otherwise serviceable. "How hard is it coming down out there?"

Melissa peered outside. "Pretty hard, but if you cover up sufficiently and run, you can probably make it...."
