Distress Signal (Locked to Two, Jamie, and Six)

Mar 02, 2007 08:04

Somewhere, floating in empty space, is a distress signal.

On the distress signal is a recorded video message.

The video is grainy, black and white, and shows a tired-looking petite young woman with short dark hair. "This message is for the Doctor," she says, quickly and in a low tone. "If you are not him, and you get this, please find a way to get it to him!" She pauses. "Doctor, this is Zoe. I don't have much time, so let me make this quick. I'm being held captive by a man named Rotelesk.  He's forcing me to work in a think tank, developing some sort of superweapon.  I don't know where I am. I'm sure there are others prisoned here, I can hear their voices sometimes; but the only persons I've seen myself are Rotelesk and his guards. I've been here ..." She pauses again and frowns. It is evident from her posture and face that she is worn thin and underfed. "I'm not sure. By my estimation, one standard Earth month. This may be the only chance I have to call for help. Please, you must hurry. Rotelesk has shown signs of agitation and I think he may be planning to move his base." She stops suddenly and her face disappears off-camera for a second. When it reappears, she looks frantic. "The guards are on their way. Please, Doctor ... I don't know what else to do ..."

The video switches off.

The beacon's signal grows weaker by the day. It has been three months since the signal was sent out.
