The Doctor found a pair of plimsole shoes and grinned madly at his feet. He felt like he could run already. That, and the knowledge that, while he was walking out into immediate danger, he was walking out to investigate something! That was brilliant, wonderful and would definitely kick him out of the rut he was worried he was falling into.

After all, that message the night before was so unnecessarily grumpy sounding. He was beginning to prove Rose---the younger Rose---right about that whole 'stick up the ass' thing.

Slipping a few cans of Nitro that Ace had left into his (larger on the inside) pockets, he glanced up at his companions.
