OK, here's the rub. Unless Apple completely bones the pony and the mythical Apple iPhone turns out to be a product disaster, I will most likely wind up owning one at some point. agreed with Jewdy. Stay away from first gen and feel smug when they recall all the first gen phones about 4 months after the release.

I was holding out for a really awesome phone for like 18 months (maybe longer) through various product delays, false starts, and eventually the news that the phone was not going to be released to the U.S. after all. Maybe I saved some money, but damn was I sick of my existing phone by the time I finally just broke down and bought a new one that was actually on the market. Vaporware is for the birds.
