learning through teaching

everybody in an education or teaching profession says that you start learning even more about your subject when you have to teach it to someone else. this is true. i'm learning about teaching everyday as well. i'm not learning what i thought i would be at this point

That's interesting, but doesn't surprise me. One, you're a really passionate person, so it doesn't surprise me that you're so dedicated and care so much. Too bad there aren't more like you out there. Although, I can see how it would become draining. Take a well deserved vacation :)
Second, have you read "Teaching to Transgress" by bell hooks? Excellent book. Not necessarily the best teaching tool in a high school, but still worth reading.
