I started reading the manga, Claymore last night. I needed something new to read and the summary seemed interesting enough since it's about this half-human, half-demon hybrid who travels from town to town killing demons

I've been meaning to read Claymore, but haven't had the time (I started watching the anime and was really interested in it).

One thing I really love though is that the Claymores (the half-human, half-demon hybrids who hunt demons) are only women. It's really refreshing seeing women being special in a genre that is dominated by male characters.

Really, really agree with this. I was actually disappointed with a male friend when he said he was disappointed that the Claymores were only women.

Claymore does have some flaws (something I feel like it's rushing through things too quickly) but it's enjoyable. I heard the anime is also suppose to be good but I haven't watched it yet.

Pfft, most other series have cast where the majority of characters are male. It's about time there was a series that was mostly female.
