So pull the plug. Let the lights go out. Untangle. Un-fear. Un-unite. Live lonely, learn yourself. Then see your brother and your sister, line-by-line. The shape and fabric of each beyond the super-connected tissue of a world passing by.

I like this. Interdependence as a challenge and exultation instead of a ball and chain. We are not separate birds, we are feathers on the wing.

Only, I think you fall flat when you say groupthink and any group-word. Too 1984-ish. I don't have another phrase or meme to replace it with off the top of my head, though.

Hmm! Yes, I can see what you mean about it feeling 1984-ish-- and, of course, it is referential. I'll think on it some! =D Thank you for the food for thought, hon. I appreciate it! =D

If we come to a point where groupthink and grouptalk trump individuality, we are lost.

The simple, and curt tone do well here, too.

-grin- I like it that I already knew you'd have something to say on this subject-- freethinker, you are. <3

Thank you. I don't know if you're making a statement about anything in particular, but this spoke to me, regardless. Just what I needed to hear and wanted to hear said. Thank you.

-smiling- Even when I'm saying nothing, sweetheart, I like to think I'm saying something.

There is always the rag tag group of independent thinkers who march to the beat of a different drummer! Since we are all independent, you won't see a united front, but luckily there are enough of us that we can't be quashed!

Oh, I think (sadly) that a look back in history (throughout, thus the sadly part), we can see many times the independent thinker has been quashed. Even now (and I preface with the fact that I don't _hate_ our government), our government has extended so far beyond our scope and reach, what our forefathers intended, that even if we wanted to rise UP against it, rally and change it, we wouldn't be able to. Our technology and scientific advances, size of our military and military hardware (and I'm not referencing conspiracy theory here-- only our _true_ capabilities) would make it all too easy to silence anyone questioning our democracy.

Yet, I think you might be right. We are more persistent-less likely to lie down and just die-in the face of our own demise when fighting for freedom.
