Children of Dune is so weird. Because it completely sucks in some ways (uneven performances, incredibly spotty effects, dialogue that's appalling), but there are other moments that just had me bawling. Strange thing. Generally I don't expect too much of made for TV movies, so I didn't think it was too bad, considering that. You're right though, that montage at the end was great. And that song that was playing during it...sounded very much like Enya. I wonder who did it.

My selves battled between watching Children of Dune and Six Feet Under. The latter won, purely because of the addiction factor.

I am getting back to you about the Sabian Symbols project. It is sort of secondary to what we are doing for Spring puppet shows, so bear with me.

Agreed. I was hoping that it would be better. Dune flowed better. So far Children of Dune feels like a lot of things were chopped out. But some of the scenes were definitely visual candy. mmm.

i missed the first half of children of dune (cod) opting also for 6 feet under. i have a suspicion that it will probably pick up a lot tonight now that they are going into the actual story "children of dune" as opposed to "dune messiah" which they squeezed into last night. the true test will be when ian mcneice shows up. he really was a major force in the original dune, and totally nailed the character of baron harkonnen.
