Commission - The depths of love

Another commission! I needed a break from my seemingly neverending list of exams. Still two to go, plus dissertation. Then I'll be happily unemployed! Yay!
Anyway, ange_pange asked me to paint a Harry/Draco pic inspired by this quote:
Only in the agony of parting do we look into the depths of love. ~George Eliot ( Read more... )

This is incredibly beautiful. I love all of your stuff, but something about this really speaks to me. Well done with the clothing; the little details like the cuffs of Draco's pants and Harry's cloak and turned-up shoes are brilliant.

Are you still accepting commissions? Not that I'd be able to negotiate with you on my student budget, but this piece makes it so tempting. ;_;

I'm so glad you noticed Harry's shoes! That is my favourite detail :)

Are you still accepting commissions?

I still have two commissions to do, once I finish them I'll start accepting new ones. So you have plenty of time to think if you want one.

Beautiful! You have such lovely coloring and dreamlike images. Draco and Harry look both rather lonely and miserable if not for the ribbon that still connects them. I hope they'll hold on to it tightly and won't let go. :)

They surely won't. This is one of the few positive fanart I've done, after all. :)

Thank you so much!

Darling, this is gorgeous. I love how tightly they're both clutching the golden cord. Like there's hope for them yet. :o)

Absolutely fantastic! I love the sun/moon motif and the thread joining them! amazing... and the sitting vs. standing... wonderfully done.

This is very interesting.. especially the choice of clothing. I wonder why you picked what you picked? :)
Anyway, your portrayal of Draco is once more exemplary vulnerable, and you make my heart swell for him as you always do. This painting does not touch me as much as some of your others did - but wouldn't that be scary if you outdid yourself every time?! ;) - but what I really really love is the cryptic sculpture between them. It can be so much, and nothing we're familiar with. Your imagination is impressive.

Well, the idea was to represent two different worlds, quite distant from each other. My first thought was Draco living in disguise among the Muggles and Harry perfectly integrated in the wizarding world, hence their clothes.

I really really love is the cryptic sculpture between them.
I loved drawing it, but it was a nightmare to paint.
Thank you so much for commenting! :)
