CHARACTERS: EVERYONE! LOCATION/SETTING: Grand Hotel des LaSalle DATE & TIME: 8:00pm, December 17, 2011 WARNINGS: teenagers at a dance SUMMARY: The Annual Reims Academy Winter Formal
[Marisa loved her dress. She decided to forgo the tiara that the sales lady had wanted her to wear, but she loved the dress. And she was at the Winter Formal alone.
She'd left the ticket she'd bought for Patchouli on the girl's bed with a rose, a real red rose, in case she decided to come, but Marisa wasn't holding out any hope. So, she'd enjoy herself as she could. Someone was sure to spike the punch and she could always hang out with Shin.
But for now, she walked through the ballroom alone, looking at the decor, smiling and laughing with the students that called to her.]
-To say Patchouli had taken her time pondering the invitation was an understatement. Up until the day of the very event itself, Patchouli had given no word on it. Marisa really had no reason to hope.
And yet, one of the more over-dressed and wealthier girls looked awfully familiar, didn't she? And she was walking right up to Marisa.-
[She froze as she turned her gaze from the crystal chandeliers and the glamor of the hotel to focus on the beautiful girl walking to her. Marisa would know that hair anywhere, but she couldn't believe her eyes at first. She really hadn't believed Patchouli would come, not with as scared as her girlfriend was.
She didn't say anything, automatically wondering if she was going to have to treat Patchouli like she was just a friend and not her date. Not the one she loved. So, she just stared, holding her breath, and waited...]
-Patchouli stopped just short of Marisa. Her expression was solid and stoic, but also tense. As if trying desperately to keep from shaping into something else. Slowly, she extended her hand...-
-Dinner, chauffeur, the works. Momiji spared no expense on Aya. She has researched everything to make it perfect. Even the complicated things that made absolutely no sense. She even wore a tuxedo for the whole ordeal. It was weird, but... Aya had asked for it. And just once, Momiji decided to let go of that inhibition and give the girl exactly what she wanted...-
-The room almost seemed smokey in that classic movie as Mokou shuffled the cards. After all, what point did a pack of scabs like them have at a winter formal? They were still dressed their best, but the kind of dancing and courting Mokou preferred couldn't be had at an event like that.-
There's also a local MC group in town we can go see if you folks get bored of cards.
[Well look at that. Shin cleans up nicely. You can't take the punk all the way out of him but he looks a lot more like the kindof boy you'd take home to mother and not the kind you'd take home from a Business show. Currently he's waiting for his date, Alice Margatroid (he's doing this as a favor to Marisa and hopes sincerely she's as cool as she makes her out to be) but for once in his life he's a bit early, so feel free to bother him.]
[ Meiling has chosen to dress rather practically for this event. Her outfit is comprised of several soft off-white knit layers, coupled with tan wool stockings and a pair of plain leather loafers with low heels. (She doesn't really need to tower over everyone after all.)
Her red hair has been straightened out, even including the parts that are normally braided. Those sections hang down in front of her chest, a pair of black bow barrettes causing them to dangle whenever she moves her head or spins around.
The fancier parties aren't really her thing, but this school function has a whole different air to it. She's actually excited to be here, and it's hard to find her standing still. From the snack trays, to the punch, to marveling at the decorations and skipping across the dance floor, you can catch Meiling taking it all in. ]
[Oh look it some other idiot dressed in white; you may remember helping him pick out this suit? He is looking no where near as swag as in the icon, if anything he looks a bit nervous. He perks up a bit and smiles when he sees a familiar face though, and heads on over to meet her by the punch.]

[ With a big grin. ] I could say the same about you - but I knew you would. [ What an outfit looks like in the dressing room is a little different than seeing it in the setting it's meant for, with the environment lights and atmosphere to make the picture complete. She finds herself looking him over a moment, curiously. ] How do you feel?
[He feels a little less out-of-place... but the pure white suit is definitely unique in the room so now he stands out, the thing he least likes doing...]
Um, a bit self-conscious? I think I've been getting more than a few looks...

She can go there, but what would she do at the formal besides her usual act of standing against the wall and picking people apart via observations?
Sometimes she wonders she's fallen in with the wrong crowd. Others... she doesn't care. Partially because Mokou scares her.
With that, she shakes her head as she adjusts some of the cards in her hand. She's got quite the poker face, man]
Don't look at me, I don't mind either way.
