Pure crap, that book tells you how to improve your odds. But MY book tells you you WILL be a winner. You just have to keep playing.

I think if I were writing one of these books, it would be titled "How to Make a Bundle Working from Home Writing Advice Books"... I don't know what most of it would be, but I know what would go on the last page... "and remember, the most important tip: be sure not to let on until the last page that whatever you're selling is a load of crap you made up just to get it to sell."
