Okay, I'm not an expert to giving "concrit". I usually comment with fluffiness.

That was my disclaimer.

I really enjoyed this chapter. All things are wonderful. The only thing that threw me out of my mindframe was that the section where Grace talks about her non-relationship with Jared. I picked up a, kind-of, blunt/harsh-ness in the tone?

I have a couple of SPaG notes, then a review.

The fact that he didn’t deny outright it
Either "deny it outright" or "outright deny it" - the object "it" needs to go after the verb; it sounds awkward the way you wrote it.

that plays every night at the Egg and Dart
When they first arrived at the top of the scene, you called it the Egg and Anchor.

This is very interesting... Obviously Justin/Brian is still happening, but you've very cleverly talked all around it without actually getting there. I'm impressed by the consistent switching between 3rd person omnipotent and 1st person POVs. Moving on to chapter 1, and looking forward to it...
