maybe Brian still has a distinctly Justin-shaped hole in his defenses right now.

omg, awesome.

i love 2, 5 and 9, especially 9. i almost cried, Justin freaking out and then Brian making realisations about himself and Justin and himselfandJustin... so very masterfully written.

Thank you very much! I think part of the reason I'm fascinated by the early S2 period is because that's where you get a sense that, no matter what happens, Brian and Justin will always have a shared history with each other. I also love Brian's temporary "softness" of character while Justin was healing. Glad you like this fic =D

i love how you structured this fic. you brought so many images to mind from the series and then added your own to make it fresh and wonderful.

i think number 7 is the most poignant for me. brian's take-charge attitude where justin is concerned is revealing of his deep feelings. and the conversation about the overly cheerful therapist was a moment of levity in a very serious chapter:

“If it makes you feel any better, I found your therapist fucking annoying, too.”

beautifully written fic.

Thank you so much ♥ I always try to write as close to canon as I can, and the character voices in my head help me to keep in line. #7 is a piece that'd just dropped out of the blue, actually, I totally did not plan to have it in there :-) I'm very glad you like it, then. It did give me an opportunity to show another way Brian was helping Justin at that time.

Have I ever told you how wonderful and amazing you are for all the lovely feedback you always give me? YOU'RE THE BEST. *smooches you to death*

thank you for commenting on my feedback...it is heart-felt and the only reason i signed on to lj in the first place. (although, now i'm enjoying lj for the camaraderie in addition to the fiction) i could no longer read the wonderful fics and not tell the writers how much i appreciated them! i love your writing and will always give you feedback.

Oh, so good.... soon as I saw your name I had to tear into this fic.... I love the back and forth caregiving ... it was cool to see the evolution of the relationship and the different dynamics. I particularly liked part 9... of course, with Justin mentioning the divorcing couple and Brian's response.... great job!!

Aw, thank you so much! I'm ecstatic that you enjoyed this fic, and that the back-and-forth narrative worked for you. I hadn't intended to do that, actually, but I couldn't decide on which storyline to focus on :-P That bit from #9 you mentioned gave me a bit of trouble, because I wanted to allude to the fact that some people can't cope with their partners' illnesses or disabilities, but I didn't want Justin to be too emo about it.

Thanks again for reading!
