I am currently reading The Seventh Function of Language and, man, to a person who has extensively studied French literary theory, reading a murder mystery about Roland Barthes where the character list is populated by every-fucking-other French theorist from that time period is pretty fucking incredible. It doesn't hurt that this book is hysterical

I had to look up what paczki are. Now I have an *excuse* for wanting donuts!

Also, I have periodic moments where I know my friends are smart, but then they just very casually drop info that's just...DUDE. My friends are SMART. (My moment has more than once been random theology babbles). Your entire first paragraph is one of those moments.

Paczki are the best! More dense and less sweet than regular donuts - they are the perfect food to gorge on before the fast day of Ash Wednesday.

My entire first paragraph is a testament to the schooling I've gone through and the fact that my interests focus more on theory than practice, I think.

Now the fun part: editing. One of my new year's resolutions for the last five or six years has been to finish this thing and wash my hands of it, but I really feel like it might happen in 2018.
