I do a lot of reading on brain research. I don't claim to understand it all but it helps to inform my work with families with behavioral and emotional struggles. It also helps me manage my own brain/life! How's this for a "pop-up"? I just this morning had a conversation about trying to enhance positive connection in relationships and the like, and after weeks of using my computer only for work, I stumble upon your revlelations on forming new brain structures this morning. No coincidence is meaningless! I wholly agree that the best way to form new brain structures/ thought patterns is to have new experiences. You have to jump entirely outside of the box, not just think creatively about the same old problem! Think differently about the whole situation! Or experience a new situation completely!

Thanks Jen for the post. I am at UCLA listening to Daniel Seigel and Bessel van der Kolk and my neurons are being blown away! Hope all is well with you and Guy. Give him a hug for me. :)
