[ Cocking his head slightly, he slammed the book shut. His attention had been well-given for now and no doubt, he found in intriguing, but he would do the rest of his research himself. Alone And such, the book seemingly disappeared in the folds of his clothing and was gone. ]
It is interesting. I shall pay it the proper attention... later.
[ She was startled at his sudden choice. But as long he would read it. That was a small victory she didn't externalize. He was going to read a book for his own pleasure.]
[ Tod got to his feet, pushing his white ponytail over one shoulder. The smirk lingering on his lips only broadened at Youko's mention of her life without aging. He had known she was out of his reach, that much had been clear to him from the beginning... but hearing her say it still seemed to challenge his authority. It was... amusing. ]
And you shall have your time. You spoke of a cafe, yes~?
[ She wasn't trying to challenge his authority, in fact, she felt amused about reading a book about a boy who never aged living in a fantastical land beyond Earth because of her situation. Youko closed the book and rose to return it to where she had taken it. ]
If you have never read a book before... Have you ever had a drink or a meal?
[ At her inquiry he couldn't help but snort. Spreading out his arms in a mockingly gentleman-ish manner, he bowed his head lightly to her. She amused him. Not a lot of people did. ]
Food and drink are for mortals to uphold life. I have no need of it.

[ Tod took a moment before catching up, watching her as she walked towards the door. There was strength in her movements and the personality he had come to find of great amusement shone through. She did not indulge him. She did not tolerate him unless on her own terms. Under more normal circumstances, he would have had anyone who acted like her pay him the proper respect, but with her... He could allow it. Not only tolerate it, but find it - fascinating. Snorting once, an understated show of his disdain for her implications, he smirked and walked up to her, following her out of the library towards the cafe of her choosing. ]
I enjoy my "slices of life" in different ways, surely. However, for the sake of... experimentation~, I shall try the pleasures of life as your kind does, yes?

And, for the sake of experimentation, you'll have to choose the afternoon meal.
[ Youko commented as she guided him right to Cafe Juliet. It was a classic City stop. The atmosphere inside was bustling with people but it was comfortable with large spaces that didn't match the outside, smaller larger. City Magic, she assumed.
She sat on a corner table, next to a window and unfolded the menu. ]

[ He sat down at the first and best table, letting his eyes roam the room for anything of interest. It was bigger on the inside than it looked on the outside, but... having been in the City for a couple of months, this was not a surprise to him. The magic of the imagination. If you could fantasize it into being, it certainly would exist.
Turning his attention back to Youko, Tod cocked his head, raising a curious eyebrow. He remembered Elisabeth's sparse diet - she had drunk neither coffee nor tea, eating nothing but oranges. A suicidal course to run. ]
Coffee, then.
[ Tod grabbed a nearby menu and looked over it. They had served cakes at the cafe in Vienna where he had promised his alliance to the Hungarian revolutionaries. A curious dish of many colours. ]
[ After experiencing what famine was like with the marrow of her bones, Youko wouldn't starve herself, even if she knew that wouldn't kill her. Besides, she was atlethic and pushed her muscles and body to the limit in her self-training and the one Shouryuu gave her, dieting like she did in Japan never crossed her mind again.
She read the menu. Coffee, huh, not her preference, but it's nice to try something new. ]
Which one? There's a large selection of coffee and cakes? I'm sick of peaches and lemon, so I'm going to skip the ones with that.
[ He gave her an amused look. She was insistent. Stubbornness was a trait he could both appreciate and scorn. When it was of this calibre, however, it was not worth his anger. He smiled, sleekly with an edge of sarcasm. ]
If her majesty demands it, I shall most certainly eat chocolate cake.
[ ooc: Also, realised too late this would seem like god-modding. He doesn't know about her royal title - for now he's simply mocking her in terms he's familiar with. >_> ]
[ He waved his hand dismissively. He found this game amusing, but it could not hold his interest for long. What kind of coffee he was given, when it held no further necessity for him, was not worthy of his attention. ]

[ She told him, seeing certain of her words. People came to terms to the fact of lives from an earlier age: aging, disease, death.]
Even to the ones who would not age in the course of our long lives. Like me, for instance, I won't age.

Or by immortals who merely enjoy life and all its pleasures, including food. If it's there, why waste a chance to taste that?
[ Youko turned to walk at the door. ]
A slice of life wouldn't cause you an indigestion. C'mon.

Now you're sounding like Keiki. "Your Majesty" this and "But Your Majesty" that. Keep it to Youko, I prefer that name.
What about the coffee?
(ooc; IT'S ALRIGHT).
