I love this. Everything is so just perversely intriguing. The affair, Lyla dying, Buzz making his own conclusion of the events, Olive acting like nothing happened and announcing she getting married again, for worse! :O

Well, since Lyla is already dead when Strangetown starts, she and Buzz are pretty much blank slates as far as their relationship goes. And, yes, you are right about my interpretation of Lyla. She is too nice and too willing to please. My goal is to develop complex characters--no true heroes and no true villains (well, maybe one or two true villains ).

I just came across your story and I love it. I never thought about Olive and Buzz together, scandalous (I love it). I can see general Butt head (what I've always called him) being a controlling obsessive overbearing butt head. Can't wait for the next one.
