Cause the VampBuffy of S6-7 would probably just have obliterated the world. The VampBuffy of S2 probably would have been content to be with her boyfriend forever. But the Post-Chosen Buffy is a wildcard.

Has she regained just enough love of life in Rome to let it ride? Is this reassertion of dominance as part of setting parameters for a new relationship. Or is she gonna be On her Own Buffy.

I like how you leave on that ominous tone, show her asserting power, but leave it out there for us to wonder just what she's going to do to an Angelus who has once again underestimated her in his arrogance.

Here's where the pathetic shipper in me goes, "OMG, she is totally going to stop torturing him after a few weeks, *g* and she is going to luv him and they are going to happily destroy the world together 4evah! OMG!!11!!"

And the writer, "Ah ha! As long as she desires. She's the Dom in this relationship. Mwuh ha ha!"

Thank you. When I first had the idea, I wanted the limited dialogue and knew that having Buffy use Angelus' words back at him would just be a really neat way to show how very, very scary Vamp!Buffy is. As soon as I got to her saying that, I knew that was it, the story needed nothing more.

Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed this one. *g* I adore dark!fic because it's just far easier for me to write and it just flows better. For me to write happier stories, I put in a lot of work and time just stressing over how to make it sound realistic, in darkfic, I just don't have as much to worry about.

Definately! I've always felt that in B/Aus fics, it's really too easy to have Buffy being passive, ESPECIALLY if vamped. Girl ain't the Slayer cuz she looks good in the outfit. She kicks ass, that's all natural.

I've never tried to write darkfic. I don't think I'd be able to do it, and I've only ever written Angelus once. But everyone's got their specialties and preferences. I tend to stick to writing stories with emotional and relationship angst. It's just what comes out the best.

Darkfics have their appeal, though. I just sometimes get turned off by the bleakness of them, but as I said it's a fascinating dynamic.

And I agree, Buffy always being passive can get a bit frustrating. Being a bit Buffy (the characte) fan I like to see her strong.

Yes. Angelus' most noticeable trait and also his weakness is his arrogance. And to vamp Buffy...that's just not a good idea. Hence the fic. *g*

Thank you for the feedback and sorry about the belated response. I've read a bit of B/Aus and I always felt that Buffy would be a terrifying vampire, plus it's fun to write that complete turn-around on Angelus.
